Pink Equine Sponsored Rider Lucy Mills

Lucy Mills Pink Equine Sponsored Rider

Pink Equine welcomes our newest sponsored rider Lucy Mills and her horses Noodle, Tigger and Cyril.

Lucy is a 30 year old human and animal osteopath, as well as freelance rider and trainer from Stratford Upon Avon.

Lucy grew up in London, however from a very early age she knew she was not a city girl and fell in love with horses from the age of 5. Lucy got her first pony called Roo when she was 11, who she competed at Pony Club and local shows. She was a nightmare to load onto a lorry and to ride. Lucy says “I went over more fences than she did. I was very inexperienced and did not come from an equine family.”

When moving onto horses, at the age of 14, Lucy had a 4 year old showjumper that could not jump which led her into dressage. They were very successful up to medium level and is currently being a lawn mower in his retirement.

Now Lucy has one event horse and two dressage horses:
Noodle is Lucy’s 7 year old event horse. Lucy has owned Noodle since a newly backed 3 year old. Noodle has had many successes at BE100 level including winning the Badminton Grassroots BE100 Championship 2024. She has also had two successful novice runs. Lucy plans to keep progressing up through the levels with Noodle whilst having lots of fun along the way. Lucy would love to aim for a 2* at the end of this season. Noodles favourite phase is the cross country! Over the winter Lucy competes Noodle at Dressage and showjumping.

Cyril is a 12 year old gelding who Lucy has owned since he was 4 years old. Lucy and Cyril have worked their way up through the levels over the years. He is currently competing at PSG and recently came 2nd in the Advanced Medium Silver Petplan Championship 2024 and 3rd in the PSG bronze Petplan Championship 2024. Lucy aims to compete at Inter 1 later this year and keep learning and progressing through the levels with Cyril.

Tigger is a 7 year old, homebred dressage horse. He is a very tall and big moving horse so Lucy is taking her time with him and is hoping to get him out competing later this season.

Lucy is also lucky enough to ride and compete many other horses. Lucy enjoys working with young horses as its so rewarding to see them learn and help them to enjoy their ridden career. Lucy says “I love riding a variety of horses as I believe that every horse can teach me something new and help to develop me as a rider.”

Lucy qualified as a human osteopath in 2023 and is almost qualified as an animal osteopath. She has started her own business called Avon Osteopathy.
