Mattes dressage boots are custom-made to your requirements. The dressage boots feature a hard shell made from highly resistant ABS plastic and covered with butt leather. The shells have been developed in close partnership with Klaus Balkenhol, specifically for dressage work and designed so that the lower edges of the shell are wide enough not to touch the fetlock joint.
The outside area of the fetlock joint is left completely open and ensures the completely free movement of the joint. There is no need for protection on the outside of the joint, so it is best to leave the area free and open. On the inside, the hard shell provides the ultimate protection. Each boot comes with a detachable lambskin lining to guarantee that the boots cause no pressure points or friction whilst the high-quality lambskin absorbs any sweat and prevents the leg from overheating.
