      Size Guide

      Mattes Baroque Saddle Pads

      • Measurement A-B (Back Length) - Measure along the spine of the pad, from front to back.
      • Measurement C-D (Depth) - Measure from the top to the bottom of the pad..
      • Measurement E-F (Sheepskin Area) - The measurement will show you where the sheepskin underside will come to, if you choose any option with sheepskin that sits underneath the pad.
      • Measurement G-H (Width) - Measure half way down your current pad from front to back.
      • Measurement I-J (Skirt Depth) - This is a deeper flare than most other Baroque Style Pads so please ensure that this measurement is suitable for your horse. It is taken from the top of the pad at the back, to the lower-most point of the Skirt.
      • If you require sheepskin on the top, please allow 3cm overlap for each section when measuring for the correct length A-B (e.g. if you want front and back top sheepskin and your pad is 58cm long, deduct 6cm so 52cm is the space you can fit your saddle into.)

        I was beyond happy

        I can absolutely say that when the pad arrived I was beyond happy. The quality and look of it was exactly what I had hoped for. The software you provide to help create the design was invaluable to someone like me – I’m not what you would call creative! So to have the opportunity the see how various colours looked together was so helpful.

        Attached is a photo of the pad being “modelled”. I’m hope you will agree that my horse and his saddle pad make a stunning combination.

      Mattes Custom Baroque Dressage Saddle Pads are available to customize in a wide range of styles, trims, bindings and colours, making them totally bespoke. Because there are so many different combinations to choose from, whatever your design, the chances are that you will be ordering a custom saddle pad that will be entirely unique.

      Customized Design:
      The Baroque dressage saddle pad is designed in order to flatter the beautiful features of Spanish Breed horses, with their strong compact bodies and elegant raised gaites and this is the perfect pad to accentuate it. It has been designed to fit English Saddles, though we can also order it for Spanish Saddles if required.

      Technical Design:
      As well as a high level of customisation, Mattes saddle pads have been designed to provide the maximum comfort for you and your horse.

      Innovative Core Design: Two-layer core design with POLY-FLEX® a needle-punched needled felt is used for shape retention and pressure equalization. Polyester wadding for padding, ensuring breathability without foam, neoprene, or gel.

      SPINEFREE® design prevents pressure on withers and spine, ensuring comfort and performance.

      SADDLE-FIX® system securely fastens the center strip of the saddle pad in the saddle compartment. Reliable and easy-to-use, providing stability during rides.

      CORRECTION® SYSTEM: Optional CORRECTION® system for flexible adjustments to saddle position, up to 30 mm. Ideal for accommodating changes in young horses’ physical development, horses after long service, or during tournament season fluctuations. Easily reinforce or reduce the shims for quick adjustments based on changing horse requirements. Effectively compensates for permanent irregularities in the horse’s physique without altering the saddle itself.
