      Size Guide

      Mattes Numnah

      • Measurement A-B (Back Length) - Measure along the spine of the pad, from front to back.
      • Measurement C-D (Depth) - Measure from the top to the bottom of the pad..
      • Measurement E-F (Sheepskin Area) - The measurement will show you where the sheepskin underside will come to, if you choose any option with sheepskin that sits underneath the pad.
      • Measurement G-H (Width) - Measure half way down your current pad from front to back.
      • If you require sheepskin on the top, please allow 3cm overlap for each section when measuring for the correct length A-B (e.g. if you want front and back top sheepskin and your numnah is 58cm long, deduct 6cm so 52cm is the space you can fit your saddle into.)

      Custom / made-to-order: this item is produced to your chosen specification. Estimated production time depends on the brand: Mattes approx. 4 weeks, Fleck approx. 4 weeks, and Pink Equine approx. 8 weeks.

      These are estimates and can vary during busy periods or due to shipping/customs delays. If you’re ordering for a specific date, please contact us before ordering and we’ll advise.

      Returns & exchanges

      Every order is checked by our team before it goes into production. If anything isn’t right when it arrives (faulty or incorrect), we’ll work with you to put it right.

      In-stock items: may be returned for a refund within 14 days of delivery, provided items are unused and returned in original condition.

      Custom / made-to-order items: once an order has been submitted for production, it cannot be cancelled. Where appropriate, these items are handled on an exchange basis. If you’re unsure about sizing or options, we strongly recommend using our consultation service before ordering.

        Mattes Dressage Numnah

        I am so pleased with my custom saddle pad. I have an appendix quarter horse, and it has been so hard to find a saddle and pad combination that is comfortable for both of us. I am currently utilizing an Australian stock saddle and this numnah is shaped perfectly for my saddle, even protecting his sides from my fenders. It is exactly what I expected, and there is very good clearance for his high Withers.

      Mattes Custom Dressage Numnah

      The Mattes Dressage Numnah is designed to combine premium materials with precision saddle fit. Made to order in Germany, each numnah is built to support balance, distribute pressure evenly and enhance your horse’s comfort under an all purpose saddle.

      Unlike standard pads, this numnah can be fully customised to suit both performance needs and personal preference.

      Customisation Options

      Using our online configurator, you can choose from:

      16 velvet fabric colours
      39 cotton and cotton sheen shades
      30+ sheepskin colours
      Multiple rope, binding and trim combinations
      Different sheepskin configurations (including lined and trim-only options)

      This allows you to create a dressage numnah that compliments your saddle, team colours or competition turnout, without compromising performance.

      Performance & Comfort Technology

      Mattes numnahs are engineered with horse comfort as the priority.

      SPINEFREE® design
      A shaped spinal channel prevents pressure on the withers and spine, allowing airflow and flexibility. An optional extra-wide wither area is available for horses with prominent withers or wide-gullet saddles.

      POLY-FLEX® core construction
      The internal structure combines durable needle-punched felt with polyester wadding for consistent shape retention and even pressure distribution. The design is completely foam-, neoprene- and gel-free, ensuring full breathability.

      SADDLE-FIX® system
      An optional fastening system that helps keep the numnah securely positioned beneath the saddle.

      Optional CORRECTION® System
      For riders needing fine adjustments to saddle balance, the CORRECTION® system can be added. Available with either 2 or 4 pockets, each pocket includes three 5mm POLY-FLEX® inserts. Shims can be added or removed to adjust saddle position without altering the saddle itself.

      This is particularly useful for: Young horses developing muscle, horses returning to work, seasonal changes in condition, between saddle fittings.
