      Mattes Square Saddle Pads

      • Measurement A-B (Back Length) - Measure along the spine of the pad, from front to back.
      • Measurement C-D (Depth) - Measure from the top to the bottom of the pad..
      • Measurement E-F (Sheepskin Area) - The measurement will show you where the sheepskin underside will come to, if you choose any option with sheepskin that sits underneath the pad.
      • Measurement G-H (Width) - Measure half way down your current pad from front to back.
      • If you require sheepskin on the top, please allow 3cm overlap for each section when measuring for the correct length A-B (e.g. if you want front and back top sheepskin and your pad is 58cm long, deduct 6cm so 52cm is the space you can fit your saddle into.)

      If you are looking for a jumping saddle pad tailored to your exact needs Mattes Jumping Pads are the perfect choice. Custom-made to order using only the best velvet, cotton or cotton sheen fabric materials, available in over 60 base colours, with a high level of customisation, from ropes/trims and bindings to the shape and colour of the sheepskin.

      Whilst Mattes jumping pads are available with or without sheepskin, front rear and underside sheepskin is a popular choice. Being a natural product, the Merino Lambskin used in all Mattes products is able to absorb up to eight times its weight in moisture before it feels at all wet and the resilient nature of the fibre is perfect for even pressure distribution. Natural wool also ensures an even temperature over the horse’s skin.

      The jump shaped saddle pad, has been carefully designed and manufactured to fit under your jumping saddle. The construction consists of a two layer core made from POLY-FLEX ® (a needle-punched needled felt) used for shape retention and pressure equalization, and a polyester wadding for the padding. Mattes do not use any foam, neoprene or gel and the result is a structure that is frictionless and fully breathable.

      In addition the SPINEFREE ® design stops pressure on the withers and spine. With the secure fastening system SADDLE-FIX ®, the center strip of jumping pads can be easily fixed in the saddle compartment.

      If your horse changes shape during the season, then Mattes also have the answer. All Mattes pads including the Mattes jump saddle pad can be ordered with the CORRECTION ® system. This is a single or a double pocket on each side of the pad, enabling the insertion of up to three felt inserts (POLY-FLEX ® ), each 5 mm thick, with print properties that match those of a good new saddle, padded with wool and horsehair.

      MATTES has developed the CORRECTION ® system to allow adjustments to the saddle position flexibly, easily and up to 30 mm: To correct for the rapid physical development of young horses in training, in horses after a long service life, or in trained horses, during change the competition season, just when fast changes have to be made up for.
