Although Mattes anatomical girths will suit a wide range of horses and ponies, they were specifically designed for horses and ponies that have good conformation, a well defined or proper girth groove, that sits far enough away from the elbow. The Anatomical girth has been cut back in the front and rear in the elbow area, and due to its elliptical shape can be rotated.

Mattes produce a range of anatomical shaped girths for horses and ponies, anatomical long girths, anatomical short girths, anatomical dressage girths, and anatomical western girths.
Anatomical girths for horses are available in a cotton quilt, or slim-line leather. Both girths are encased in a removable lambskin from the finest Merino sheep that is unbelievably soft and provides a cushioning effect for your horse, essential for those animals with sensitive skin.
