Size Guide

Mattes Square Saddle Pads

  • Measurement A-B (Back Length) - Measure along the spine of the pad, from front to back.
  • Measurement C-D (Depth) - Measure from the top to the bottom of the pad..
  • Measurement E-F (Sheepskin Area) - The measurement will show you where the sheepskin underside will come to, if you choose any option with sheepskin that sits underneath the pad.
  • Measurement G-H (Width) - Measure half way down your current pad from front to back.
  • If you require sheepskin on the top, please allow 3cm overlap for each section when measuring for the correct length A-B (e.g. if you want front and back top sheepskin and your pad is 58cm long, deduct 6cm so 52cm is the space you can fit your saddle into.)

Description

Mattes saddle pad with shims available in the Black cotton quilt, is stocked at Mattes European Warehouse and is available on a 2-week delivery to us (plus shipping time to you). Its perfect if you want the technical performance of a Mattes saddle pad, without the need for 100% customization, where receiving your item quickly is more important.

Mattes pad with shims are made using the best quality materials and luxurious sheepskin. MATTES uses quilted fabric made from a high-quality cotton/polyester blend, which is strong but flexible. The Sheepskin is very dense and dyed at Matte’s own tannery in Germany.

At the core of all Mattes saddle pads are two layers. Firstly POLY-FLEX ® (a needle-punched needled felt) is used for shape retention and pressure equalization, and secondly polyester wadding is for padding. There is no foam, neoprene, or gel in any of the saddle pads and this allow the structure to retain to be breathable whilst retaining its shape.

The shimmable Saddle Pad includes the Mattes correction system, with 4 pockets (2 on each side) made from (POLY-FLEX ® ) each pocket has 3 Felt Pads to aid in the precise adjustment of the fit for the saddle.

The correction system was designed to allow adjustments to the saddle position flexibly, easily and up to 30 mm: To correct for the rapid physical development of young horses in training, in older horses, or horses that change shape during the season, where a fast solution is required.
