The Mattes Girth has been specifically designed in collaboration with top riders, to rectify a range of problems caused by ill fitting and poorly designed girths.

Each Mattes girth in the range suits a particular size and shape of horse and corrects problems, such as rubbing or chafing or the saddle slipping forwards or backwards.

Mattes girths are available in long or short formats to fit, all types of saddles including dressage and mono flap as well as cinches for western saddles.

The girth I bought from you is a crescent girth to fit my 14.2hh Arab. I first saw a picture of different types of horses, I can’t remember where but the picture squashed looked so much like the type my pony is. Short back, big barrel, narrow chest. I had problems with my new saddle going forward and your girth has helped tremendously. I’ve noticed as time has gone on that it just gets better. As she can’t influence the saddle so much it is helping her way of going and when she gets straighter and stronger I’m sure the girth will then be absolutely perfect. This style girth was recommended also by my saddler.

I’m hoping to add a different colour sheepskin cover in the future, I went for black to start.
