Mattes Girths – The Ultimate in Comfort, Fit, and Performance
Looking for the perfect Mattes girth for your horse? Whether you need a Mattes dressage girth, a short girth, or a western cinch, the entire Mattes girth range has been developed in collaboration with top riders to solve the most common girthing issues — including rubbing, chafing, pressure points, and saddle slippage.
Each Mattes girth is tailored to suit different horse conformations, with specific styles designed to support shoulder freedom, stabilise saddle position, and maximise comfort. Available in long, short, and western formats, these girths are compatible with dressage, mono flap, all-purpose, jumping, and western saddles.
⭐ Choose from the Full Range of Mattes Girth Styles ⭐
✔ Anatomic – for horses with forward girth grooves
✔ Asymmetric – ideal for rounder horses with less definition
✔ Crescent – designed for short-backed, barrel-shaped horses
✔ Athletico – for horses with a strong taper from shoulder to flank
Mattes girths are available in two finishes:
– Padded cotton quilt with high-quality merino lambskin
– Slimline leather version (2cm narrower) for a sleeker look and for those with a smaller girth groove
Both styles of horse girth are lined with premium merino lambskin, which naturally prevents rubbing, helps wick away sweat, and provides exceptional cushioning and pressure distribution.
You can also customise your Mattes girth by choosing from a wide selection of colours, trims, and sheepskin tones to create a girth that fits your horse and your style.
